Welcome Home

On sunny, spring days I take my nesting and design craziness outdoors. Conceptually your entrance should relate to the rest of your home, but more importantly it should make you happy. My entrance needs an overall, the house is yellow with a black door. I think when I have it painted, {hopefully in the near future} I'll change that. Also, consider the other entrance elements, ex. the lighting, plants etc. Here are some inspiring homes..What style speaks to you?

I've long loved this DOOR + PULL!

  6. Doesnt it suck for us apartment dwellers that we have to walk through a hallway and enter a door thats just the same as all our neighbors? YES!

  7. I am so torn between the gorgeous California, agave framed entrance (and that pink door!) and the traditional Lab guarded entrance. I'll take either thanks :)

  8. I'd been waiting for years to paint my house white. I finally had it done, and now that the rest of the house looks so clean and simple, I can't figure out what to do with the door and the lighting, since both with really stand out quite a bit. This post has been so helpful, but I still can't make up my mind!

  12. There is not one front door in your post that I wouldn't be pleased to come home to.

Love the first photo, the yellow makes me happy.

I dream of a beach cottage that is as inviting as the blue house with an orange front door with the fresh white fence. Divine.

    love your blog.
