On sunny, spring days I take my nesting and design craziness outdoors. Conceptually your entrance should relate to the rest of your home, but more importantly it should make you happy. My entrance needs an overall, the house is yellow with a black door. I think when I have it painted, {hopefully in the near future} I'll change that. Also, consider the other entrance elements, ex. the lighting, plants etc. Here are some inspiring homes..What style speaks to you?

I am with you , Love the last image the door knob is amazing and so is the door. I have a french door for my entry and I used antique black knobs love the light that comes in the entry. You can see it on my porch post that I have posted today. Kathysue

I finally had it done, and now that the rest of the house looks so clean and simple, I can't figure out what to do with the door and the lighting, since both with really stand out quite a bit. This post has been so helpful, but I still can't make up my mind!
